Management Accountant
Venn Group are currently supporting on multiple opportunities for several NHS organisations based in the South East of England. The Clients are looking for Management Accountants paying between £37,152 and £39,139 per annum. They are keen for candidates who can start immediately or at a short notice.
Duties:
- Assist the Finance Manager in a range of tasks including the Trust Budget setting process and to provide expert financial input, advice and support to budget holders.
- Assist the Finance Manager in the monthly production of management accounts
- Meet reporting deadlines through careful planning and time allocation and discussing and reviewing with line manager until tasks are successfully completed
- Preparing journals, recharges and adjustments to enable accuracy in financial statements
- Resolve queries from budget holders and managers in a timely manner
- Meet Budget Holders on a regular basis to discuss and explain budget statements and provide financial support as required
- Supported by a management accountant, maintain a template for monthly change in pay spend based on starter and leaver forecast trajectory in a monthly profile and liaising with Finance Managers (FMs) regarding pay forecast
- Liaise with Deputy Finance Managers, rota coordinators, payroll provider and temporary staffing office to resolve any mismatches or queries on a monthly basis for bank and agency staff
- Monthly reconciliation of Electronic Staff Records (ESR) and the ledger to mitigate differences
- Input of pay feeders to the general ledger including the correction of errors
Essential skills:
- Experience in working in NHS organisations is essential
- Corporate/ Estate and Facilities budget experience
- Good system skills including NHS software: Aptos, Oracle and MS Excel
- Studying for CCAB recognised accounting qualification
- GCSE (A – C) English & Maths, A Level (A-D) Maths
Person specification:
- Able to analyse highly complex problems relating to business cases and make judgements on financial and business decisions relating to the allocation of finances
- Work on own initiative within professional guidelines to achieve agreed objectives
- Take a proactive approach to developing skills and experience
- Specialist knowledge of the Microsoft suite of programmes (particularly Access and Excel)
- Advanced data analysis and presentation skills
- Knowledge of NHS and social care services and working practices
