Management Accountant (SEND)

We are currently working on an Interim Management Accountant role within Children and Family Services for an East Midlands Local Authority, ideal for someone with significant experience in SEND finance.

Management Accountant  (SEND)
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: 6 Months initially (potential extension)
Rate: Negotiable daily rate (Inside IR35)
Working Pattern: Mainly home-based (flexible), part-time considered

Duties:

• Provide financial management support and business advice to assist with the High Needs Recovery Plan
• Deliver accurate, timely financial reporting and analysis, including planning and submissions to government or partner organisations
• Support departmental managers with financial responsibilities and ensure compliance with council policies
• Identify options to optimise short- and long-term financial performance and assist with implementation
• Communicate technical financial information to non-finance specialists in an understandable way

Requirements:

• Significant experience in Education finance, ideally High Needs/SEND
• Strong understanding of financial management policies and procedures
• Ability to work independently and remotely
• Qualified accountant or equivalent experience
