Venn Group partnered with one of our valued public sector clients to source a driven, engaging and experienced individual for the following assignment:

Location:          Buckinghamshire (four days on-site, one from home)

Contract:          Three months +

Rate:                £223.47 per day

Hours:              Full-time (37.5 hours)

Your duties will include:

• Acting as the organisation’s competent person in manual handling and ergonomics, ensuring the organisation meets its legal duties in relation to manual handing and ergonomics through delivery of manual handling training and display screen equipment policies and procedures
• Leading on the delivery and implementation of policies and procedures in relation to manual handling and ergonomics including the Manual Handling & DSE Policies respectively
• Promoting and developing a safe culture, delivering a strategy aimed at reducing musculoskeletal injuries
• Advising and supporting managers and staff in risk identification, risk assessment and risk reduction
• Developing, delivering and evaluating practical and theoretical training in manual handling to ensure the organisation meets its statutory obligations under the Health & Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and The Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992 (and any other relevant legislation)
• Providing proactive and reactive advice and recommendations to managers and staff to reduce the risk of musculoskeletal injury
• Undertaking regular reviews including inspections and audits of the management of manual handling within the Trust

The successful candidate should have:

• Post graduate qualification in a health-based discipline or Health & Safety or equivalent knowledge and experience
• Knowledge in Health & Safety legislation and experience of moving and handling and risk management
• Experience of delivering training in the fields of manual handling (clinical and non-clinical), risk management and safe systems
