Mechanical Design Engineer
Venn Group are working with London-based NHS Trust to secure the services of experienced Mechanical Design Engineer. The main purpose of this role is to support the planning and delivery of all medical mechanical applications (HVAC and Domestic Water Systems) across the organisations site.
Please note, this is not a CAD, Product Mechanical, Industrial Design or Production role. This role is purley concerned with the design and implementation of domestic water systems and HVAC systems in a healthcare enviroment.
Rate: £30-£35 per hour (Band 8A)
Length: 6 months +
Location: London
The successful candidate will:
- Provide support to the Projects teams on the design and implication of mechanical applications such as HVAC and water systems across all sites
- Ensure sensitive approach supported through clear, concise and effective communication with staff
- Respond to specific requests for information from users, key stakeholders and the project team, liaising with Trust clinical teams, Estates and Facilities, IT services and others to provide the required information
- Capable of preparing detailed design, calculations for all elements and preparation of specifications
- Conversant with all relevant standards
- Have knowledge of HVAC systems and domestic water systems
- Have hand's on experience installing and maintaining domestic water systems and HVAC systems
- Liaison with other Team Members, Clients, Contractors and external Consultants
- Attend site meetings with the team
- Attend site to monitor ongoing installations as they evolve
- Attend site to trouble shoot should the need arise
The successful candidate will have:
- Experience in a similar role (HVAC or water systems mechanical engineering)
- HND, HNC, Degree (or equivalent City and Guilds etc) in relevant background (HVAC, Building Services or Mechanical Engineering)
- Hands on experience of the installation, maintenance and design of domestic water systems and HVAC systems
- Good Knowledge of mechanical design programmes
- Excellent Microsoft Office, Excel, Access and administration skills
