Job Opportunity – Medical Workforce Lead
Venn Group are currently working on a position with one of our highly regarded healthcare organisations, based in Cambridgeshire, to source a Medical Workforce Lead for the following assignment:
Medical Workforce Lead
Location: Cambridgeshire (one day on-site per week, rest working remotely)
Contract: 3 months+
Hours: 37.5 per week
Rate: £223.47 Umbrella
Your duties will include:
- Providing specialist advice to senior managers and clinical leaders with formal HR policies and Procedures associated with medical and dental staff
- Deputising for the Medical Workforce Lead as and when required
- Advising the Medical Director, Deputy Medical Director, Clinical Directors, Associate Clinical Directors, General and Service Managers, medical staff and HR colleagues on the application of terms and conditions of employment for medical and dental staff, ensuring compliance with the organisation’s policies and employment legislation
- Supporting the Medical Workforce team in ensuring they have the knowledge to provide advice and guidance on terms and conditions for medical and dental staff to managers, all medical and dental staff and HR colleagues
- Ensuring the organisation has a robust process in place to ensure the implementation of any new legislation, NHS/DHSC initiatives and changes to terms and conditions for medical and dental staff takes place
- Providing appropriate support to the Medical Workforce team to ensure processes, policy, and legislation associated with the recruitment and appointments of new doctors ensuing compliance with the organisations policies and employment legislation
- Providing guidance, advice and support to the Medical Workforce team in ensuring processes are in place for the smooth running of all medical rotas and on-call rotas
- Providing guidance, advice and support to the Medical Workforce team in ensuring processes are in place for them to support study leave, annual leave, sick leave and locum cover for medical staff, ensuring compliance with the organisation policies, terms and conditions of service and employment legislation
- Providing advice and support to the Medical Director and other senior clinicians in applying Human Resources policy and procedures including, Maintaining High Professional Standards – professional conduct and capability procedure for medical and dental staff (including NCAS or GMC, when appropriate), disciplinary and performance issues as required
The successful candidate should have:
- Knowledge of HR practices with experience of dealing with HR issues, ER and recruitment
- Experience within a busy Medical Staffing / HR function
- Experience of design, management and monitoring of medical rotas
- Knowledge of equality and diversity issues and associated legislation
- Ability to interpret complex information and employment legislation and communicate the detail in a clear, concise, and accurate manner
- Ability to use initiative to solve day-to-day operational problems relating to medical staffing
- Analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to work independently and flexibly in order to effectively prioritise own and team’s workload
