Mental Health Support Worker (Nights)
Our client, a prestigious support provider in Devon, is seeking an experienced Support Worker to join their team This role involves providing comprehensive support to individuals with moderate to severe mental health difficulties, enabling them to access treatment and rehabilitation services.

Location: West Devon
Contract duration: 3 Months temporary to permanent
Hours: 35 per week (3 nights one week & 4 nights on the second)
Hourly rate: £12.56-£14.00 via Umbrella

Day to day responsibilities include:
- Provide key support to individuals in mental health crises, ensuring their safety and well-being during lone working situations
- Conduct crisis interventions, utilizing de-escalation techniques and crisis management skills
- Receive specialized ligature training to prevent self-harm incidents and maintain a safe environment
- Administer medication prompts according to prescribed regimens and accurately document medication administration
- Conduct regular 15-minute observations to monitor mental state, behavior, and potential risks
- Use electronic patient records for comprehensive and up-to-date documentation
- Contribute to safety management plans to mitigate risks and ensure individual well-being
- Liaise with external agencies, healthcare professionals, and emergency services during crisis situations
- Support individuals in developing coping strategies and managing factors affecting mental and physical health
- Adhere to organizational policies, maintain confidentiality, and actively participate in professional development to enhance crisis intervention skills
Essential criteria include:
- Experience of providing support to service users with mental health conditions
- A current enhanced DBS
