We are supporting a highly respected public sector organisation in North Wales seeking a Network Engineer to join their established ICT team on a permanent basis.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive and technically skilled individual to play a vital role in maintaining and enhancing critical network and communication systems that support essential services across the region.
Key Responsibilities:

Ensure the smooth day-to-day operation and monitoring of network and telecom systems, advising on performance and technical improvements.

Act as an escalation point for network, fixed and mobile communications issues, providing guidance to ICT colleagues and end users.

Support installations, maintenance, fault resolution and upgrades of infrastructure, including backups, patching and redesigns.

Contribute to the research, development and implementation of new infrastructure technologies, following NCSC best practice guidelines.

Liaise with service providers, equipment suppliers and other stakeholders to ensure reliable and cost-effective solutions.

Assist in preparing contract specifications and project scopes and review tariffs and price plans to ensure value for money.

Produce technical reports, statistics and responses to Freedom of Information requests.

Share knowledge and support colleagues and users through documentation, guidance and training.

Maintain and audit stock levels and asset databases.

Participate in an on-call rota to support critical incidents during evenings and weekends.

Support the wider infrastructure team on projects and provide resilience as needed.
Skills & Experience:

Strong technical expertise in network and telecommunications systems.

Experience with installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of network and communication infrastructure.

Understanding of NCSC guidance and implementing secure systems.

Excellent documentation and communication skills, able to support both technical and non-technical audiences.

Comfortable working in a demanding environment where precision and accountability are essential.
