Payment Officer - Associate
Venn Group are seeking a detail-oriented Payments Officer to join a global bank and play a vital role in managing and optimizing payment processing operations. As a Payments Officer, you will be responsible for investigating and resolving payments that deviate from the Straight Through Processing (STP) workflow on behalf of the EMEA offices. You will also manage and process payment queues within Montran JGPS and SWIFT, ensuring adherence to currency cutoff times. Additionally, you will handle payment verification within Montran JGPS for both London and EMEA offices and collaborate with the Treasury Department to obtain cross-currency exchange rates to facilitate seamless payment processing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Investigate and rectify payments that do not follow the STP workflow for the EMEA offices.
- Manage and process payment queues within Montran JGPS and SWIFT in accordance with currency cutoff times.
- Handle payment verification within Montran JGPS on behalf of the London and EMEA offices.
- Obtain customer cross-currency exchange rates from the Treasury Department to facilitate payment processing.
- Monitor and clear payment queues within Montran JGPS daily in alignment with currency cutoff times.
- Support month-end processing for both EMEA and London Payment teams.
- Investigate STP payment exceptions and take corrective actions to enable processing.
- Collaborate with relevant teams to manage manual payment validation checks and processing.
- Perform daily Target 2 and FOX reconciliation.
Qualifications:
- Strong attention to detail with a proven ability to process large payment volumes within tight deadlines.
- Prior experience in a Bank handling payments is desirable
- Flexibility and adaptability to handle various tasks and deadlines effectively.
- Proactive and self-motivated approach to responsibilities with excellent multitasking abilities.
- In-depth knowledge of payments processes and industry standards, including PSD2.
- Proficiency in SWIFT payment formatting.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders.
