Payroll Assistant
Venn Group is delighted to be partnered with a leading children’s charity to recruit a Payroll Assistant on a permanent contract. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, working closely with Payroll, HR, and Finance teams to meet statutory requirements and maintain up-to-date records.
Key responsibilities of the role:
- Process monthly payroll using the ADP iHCM Managed Service system
- Ensure departments and employee records are accurately set up and maintained
- Administer pension contributions, auto-enrolment, and reporting
- Manage statutory payments including SSP, SMP, and SPP
- Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure timely archiving and filing
- Collaborate with Finance to support monthly reconciliations and reporting
- Respond to employee payroll queries and support with general administration
- Assist with year-end processes, HMRC submissions, and audit preparation
Ideal candidate profile:
- A recognised payroll qualification (e.g. CIPP) or strong hands-on experience in a payroll role
- Solid understanding of UK payroll legislation, tax, NI, and pensions
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work to strict deadlines
- Confident communication skills and a proactive, team-oriented approach
