Payroll Assistant
An exciting position has arisen for a Payroll Assistant to work for a College based in North London. This establishment has an ethos of success and commitment to exceptional delivery of service for internal and external stakeholders. Therefore, the successful postholder will be joining their Finance team to contribute to and aid this.
Job responsibilities include:
- Being responsible for accurate calculations of overtime, PAYE, NI deductions, SMP, SSP, OSP, SPP, OMP, pension contributions, attachments to earnings, holiday pay, annual pay awards, salary amendments and increments and implement on the payroll
- Inputting of general payroll data such as overtime and pay arrears, Direct Earnings Attachments, salary adjustments and other payroll data into Midland HR iTrent
- Accurately process P45s, HMRC tax codes (P9s, P6s), Student and Post-Graduate Loans, and other tax and NI documents
- Process and distribute P60s to the relevant staff at year end
- Checking all payroll data such as new starters, leavers, overtime, pay awards, and arrears
- Ensuring the recovery of salary advances and overpayments in line with the College Pay Policy
- Assisting the Finance department with queries related to payroll/college accounting
The successful candidate must have:
- Two to three years’ experience in a similar role
- Experience of using HR/payroll systems
- Knowledge of Teachers’ Pensions and Local Government Pension Scheme administration
