Our client is seeking a Personal Advisor, to support the work of Children in Care Service incorporating their Care Leaver services (some with unaccompanied asylum seeking and refugee young people).
You need to have experience of completing pathway plans and you will either join the USAC or Care Leaver Team. These teams cover ages 16-25 yrs.
The role is Hybrid however they would like the candidates to be in the office based for the first 2 weeks to complete training and to meet the team, they will have their caseload of young people with a visiting pattern so you will need to be flexible to complete visits as well as team meetings.
Responsibilities:
- To be responsible for carrying out all the duties of the job in accordance with the County Councils Equal Opportunities Policy
- To meet Children’s Workforce development Confederation Induction Standards
- Support and advocate for Children & Young People who are Looked After or Leaving Care (including Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children/Young People)
- To contribute to Single Assessments and Age Assessments
- To supervise contact visits when parents are visiting children who are looked after
- To provide necessary transport for children/young people and parents/carers
- To undertake identified Life Story Work
- To undertake such other duties as are within the scope of the job purpose, the title of the job and its grading
- To attend supervision compliant with CYPS Supervision policy and procedure and with the Team Manager at annual PDR and mid-year review their individual and developmental needs
- To complete Common Induction Standards and undertake continuing professional and personal development to develop and update knowledge and skills
Requirements:
- Level 3 childcare qualification (NNEB/NVQ3 or equivalent)
- Relevant paid or unpaid experience of working with young people within a social care setting or similar
- Providing support services to young people and/or unaccompanied and refugee young people
- Experience of behavioural work with children / young people and their carers
- Knowledge of Child Development, Home Safety Issues, Safeguarding children issues
- Organisational and planning skills and the ability to work creatively
- Knowledge of relevant legislation in relation to young people leaving care
- Ability to communicate clearly with children, young people, parents and other professionals
- Ability to work with a range of professionals and engage in Multi-disciplinary work
- Able to produce clear, accurate records and reports
