We are currently recruiting for 3 Plumbers within a large UK subcontractor working across the Greater Manchester area. A work van and fuel card is provided for all travel requirements of the role.
The post holder will be a member of the Maintenance Team responsible for carrying out day-to-day repairs and statutory Planned Preventative Maintenance across various public sector buildings by using specialist knowledge and skills gained from training, experience and appropriate qualifications. Duties will include:
- Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and general day-to-day repair work as required on receipt of electronic job tickets via the Maintenance Supervisor or their deputy
- Complete PPMs and day-to-day tasks will include;
- Draining, cleaning and Chlorination of DHW Calorifiers, recording of flow and return temperatures on DHW Calorifiers / Plate Heat Exchangers
- Regular inspection and testing of drainage systems and Fire Hydrants
- Inspection and repair of water tanks
- Chlorination of water tanks and/or systems
- Regular testing, repair and overhaul of Thermostatic Mixers
- Testing of hot and cold-water storage systems, hot water distribution systems, stored hot water sampling
- Monitoring and flushing in unoccupied premises in accordance with the Control of Legionella HTM04-01, L8 and the Estates Water Management Regime documentation
- Testing of safe hot water temperatures in accordance with HTM04-01, assist other mechanical trades when working on Steam distribution system, fault finding and everyday plumbing / heating repairs and installations and any elements necessary to provide statutory maintenance compliance of the built environment and will involve either working alone or in teams
- Recording work details accurately on the electronic job tickets and daily time sheet on completion of the task and making any necessary decision to refer a fault to Senior Estates staff or contractor via their Supervisor.
Essential skills / qualifications:
- NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent in an plumbing, mechanical engineering or building services related discipline
- Full UK driving licence held for at least 12 months and not carrying more than 6 penalty points
- Enhanved DBS will need to be completed if successful
