School Site Manager
Venn Group is working with a leading independent school to recruit a Site Manager to ensure the smooth running, safety, and compliance of multiple school sites.
Location: Wandsworth, London
Salary: £38,000–£40,000 per year
Hours: 47.5 hours per week (term time), 40 hours per week (school closure periods)
Leave: 25 days plus 8 bank holidays
Role Overview
The Site Manager plays a key operational role in maintaining buildings and grounds, managing a small team, and coordinating contractors. This is a hands-on position requiring strong leadership and practical maintenance skills.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and direct site supervisors and contractors
Oversee day-to-day maintenance and emergency repairs
Undertake plumbing, carpentry, and painting tasks where feasible
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations (fire safety, asbestos, legionella, COSHH)
Conduct regular inspections and update risk assessments
Manage budgets and procurement for planned works
Maintain site security and support school events
Essential Requirements
Experience in maintenance/facilities (carpentry, plumbing, painting)
Full UK driving licence
Strong leadership and organisational skills
Knowledge of health and safety standards
IT literacy and good communication skills
Experience in a school environment
Desirable
IOSH/NEBOSH qualification
