Venn Group are currently recruiting for an interim Procurement Manager position. The role is covering a two year project and will intially be a nine month contract.
The role will be working from home.
To apply for this role you must have worked for a Council previously. The client also needs to see examples of the savings you have made for a local authority throughout your CV.
The rate of pay is £450 per day inside of IR35.
The duties:
A Council has an established procurement and commissioning team which helps the organisation to manage all third-party expenditure, deliver savings and ensure compliance to internal policies and statutory requirements including the Public Contract Regulations
To achieve challenging financial goals the Council needs to substantially increase the level of savings achieved on third-party expenditure during the current financial year and over the next two-years
The saving programme will include rationalising suppliers and reducing the supply base
The Council wants to add additional experienced procurement resource into the team with a particular focus on savings delivery. The savings delivery programme has senior level support from senior Council officers and Council members, and covers all categories of third party expenditure
The procurement and commissioning resource is structured into three teams supporting: (1) adults services, (2) children’s services and (3) environment, corporate & property. A fourth team is being created that will focus on savings delivery programmes across all teams / categories. The Council is looking to appoint at least two suitably experienced procurement professionals to lead savings activities across a number of categories. Appointments will be on an interim basis
