Project Support Officer
Rate: £250 per day (Inside IR35)
Contract: Until March 2026
Location: Remote
We are currently seeking an experienced Project Support Officer (PSO) to join our client on an interim basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a high-impact Early Intervention and Prevention team, contributing to the delivery of programmes that create real, positive change within communities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide cross-programme support across a portfolio of projects, ensuring consistency in processes, documentation, and reporting standards
- Assist the Programme Manager with the coordination of day-to-day project activities, ensuring timelines, resources, and deliverables are clearly tracked and managed
- Maintain and update project documentation, such as implementation plans, RAID logs (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies), action trackers, and status reports to support effective governance
- Coordinate stakeholder engagement, including scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, circulating minutes, and following up on actions to ensure alignment and accountability
- Support internal and external communications, helping to prepare presentations, newsletters, or briefing materials to keep stakeholders informed and engaged
- Monitor and report on project progress, flagging any risks or issues early and working with the Programme Manager to keep initiatives on track
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a Project Support Officer, Project Coordinator, or PMO role within a complex environment
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and respond quickly to changing demands
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, both internally and externally
- Proficiency with project management tools and software, such as MS Project, Excel, SharePoint, or equivalent
- Experience working within local government or the wider public sector is highly desirable, especially in programmes focused on health, social care, or community outcomes
