Role: Projects Portfolio Manager
Contract: Full-time, 12 months FTC
Location: Kent (2 days on site)
Salary: £60,000 per annum
The postholder will be responsible for programme management, project portfolio planning, management and delivery of solutions, focusing on improving services for residents.
Requirements:
- Lead the delivery of the Excellent Services Programme, ensuring on-time, on-budget implementation of new technologies and working practices
- Define and manage a portfolio of projects aligned with agreed scope, quality, timelines, and budget
- Deliver fit-for-purpose technology solutions that provide business value, address challenges, and uphold application and data security
- Collaborate with stakeholders to align projects with wider organisational priorities and ensure successful delivery
- Procure and manage suppliers, ensuring delivery meets agreed standards and performance expectations
- Oversee adoption of new technologies from requirements design to user embedding
- Manage third party suppliers’ performance
- Manage all aspects of project delivery, including scope, cost, risks, quality, testing, integration, and release
- Maintain comprehensive documentation (e.g., plans, reports, logs, trackers) and monitor project performance
- Implement KPIs, contingency plans, and track benefits and financial performance within defined tolerances
Expertise
- Proven record leading projects and project portfolios to successfully deliver change and improvements
- Knowledge and experience of portfolio and project management methodologies
- Experience of project management tasks; particularly identifying technical requirements and designing solutions
- History in business engagement, business analysis and planning, design, sourcing, transition and delivery
Qualifications and skills
- Project Management qualification and comparable relevant experience
Desirable
- Prince2/Agile Practitioner level
- A formal Project Portfolio Management accreditation
