Recovery Worker
A well-established Support Provider based in Dorset is looking for a Recovery Worker to join their team on a 3 - 6 month period to support individuals with Alcohol and Substance Misuse issues. The post holder will deliver a valuable service to the community and the public and help vulnerable service user to develop appropriate interventions and help them to reduce risks and harms.
Location: Dorset
Contract duration: 3 months +
Hours: Mon – Fri: 9am – 5pm
Hourly rate: £18.00 - £20.00 via Umbrella

Day to day responsibilities include:
- Act as the point of entry for clients into the service by providing Triage and Comprehensive Assessments, Referrals, and contributing to Recovery Plans
- Manage an active caseload; providing structured brief psychosocial/ Pharmacotherapy interventions in compliance with the service delivery model
- Screen for Blood Borne Viruses (BBV), with the aim to prevent/ control the spread of infection
- Preventing or reducing Drug and Alcohol related harms to service users by identifying potential Risk/s, and within the context of the wider community
- Develop and disseminate substance misuse information and give advice on Health and Social Well being in both and group and 1-1 environment
- Work with clinicians to support substitute prescribing regimes to improve social functioning
- Support service users to support socially reintegrate into the community; enabling them to lead meaningful and purposeful lives: promoting recovery, resilience, peer support and self determination
- Safeguard service users from harm, abuse, or neglect
- Coordinate psycho-social interventions: (1-1 Key Work, Group Work, harm minimisation, and brief interventions)
Essential criteria include:
- Current enhanced DBS (within the past 12 months)
- Experience of working within service users with Substance Misuse issues
