Permanent Refugee Support Assistant
Venn Group Social Housing Recruitment Team are currently recruiting for a Refugee Support Assistant to join a local domestic violence support service in South Wales.
Location: South Wales
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: 37.5 hours per week (24/7 service)
Hourly Rate: £18,000 p.a
Day-to-Day Duties:
- Welcome new service users into the organisations accommodation-based support facilities
- Complete a comprehensive induction with all new residents
- Ensure all housing benefit forms are completed within a timely manner
- Complete daily & weekly health & safety checks
- Monitor, record and follow up on any health & safety concerns which arise
- Provide support to other members of staff and their caseload
- Provide advocacy, emotional and practical support and information in relation to legal options, housing, health, finance and recovery
- Help maintain accurate and confidential case management records/databases and contribute to monitoring information for the service
- Clean & prepare rooms in readiness for access across all accommodation
- Remain up-to-date and compliant with all organisational procedures policies and professional codes of conduct and uphold standards of best practice
Essentials:
- Experience of providing support to vulnerable people
- A current Enhanced DBS
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office
- Ability to work shifts including nights and weekends
Desirable:
- Previous experience supporting Domestic Violence Victims
- Welsh speaking
