Job Description:
As a Risk and Governance Analyst, you will play a vital role in ensuring the integrity and effectiveness of our risk management and governance processes within our banking environment. You will collaborate closely with various stakeholders across the organization to identify, assess, and mitigate risks, as well as implement and monitor controls to safeguard our operations and assets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct risk assessments to identify and evaluate potential risks associated with various business activities, products, and services.
- Perform regular reviews and updates of risk and control frameworks to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Develop and maintain risk registers to document identified risks, their potential impact, and mitigation strategies.
- Coordinate and facilitate risk and control self-assessment (RCSA) processes, working closely with business units to identify control weaknesses and areas for improvement.
- Analyse data and trends to identify emerging risks and provide recommendations for proactive risk mitigation measures.
- Support the development and implementation of risk policies, procedures, and guidelines to enhance risk management capabilities across the organization.
- Prepare and present risk reports and findings to senior management and relevant committees, highlighting key risk exposures and control deficiencies.
- Collaborate with internal audit, compliance, and other relevant functions to ensure effective coordination of risk management activities and timely resolution of issues.
- Stay abreast of regulatory developments, industry trends, and emerging risks to provide timely insights and recommendations to stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Risk Management, or related field. Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., FRM, CFA, CIA) is a plus.
- Proven experience in risk management, governance, or related functions within the financial services industry, preferably in a banking environment.
- Strong understanding of risk management principles, methodologies, and regulatory requirements (e.g., Basel III, Dodd-Frank Act, etc.).
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to assess complex issues and develop practical solutions.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact confidently with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Experience with risk management tools and systems (e.g., GRC platforms) is desirable.
