We are working with a Council who are looking for a Section 106 Monitoring Officer to maintain the Register of Section 106 Agreements and proactively monitor the agreements to ensure that the provisions within them are recorded and enacted efficiently.

Duration: 3 – 6 Months
Hybrid Working Arrangement
Responsibilities:
- Maintain an up-to-date register of Section 106 Agreements ensuring accurate input to relevant software systems
- Monitor progress on Section 106 Agreements and identify whether contributions are due through internal sources, digital records and liaison with developers and other relevant Stakeholders and Partners
- Develop, implement and enhance Section 106 processes
- Communicate with internal services and where appropriate other relevant external Stakeholders and Partners regarding Section 106 monies received and advise on intended purposes
- Assist with the management of Section 106 monitoring data including the recording of progress on Section 106 spending and assist with the preparation of written and software generated monitoring reports
- Take a proactive role in monitoring of trigger points, including monitoring commencement notices, site monitoring and working with other Council departments to identify commencement and trigger dates
- Work closely with finance colleagues on the collection and spending of Section 106 contributions. Pursue unpaid or unspent funds to ensure that funds are spent in accordance with the terms of the Agreement to deliver public benefits
- Assist with responding to Section 106 correspondence and related enquiries, including Freedom of Information requests
- Support the routine administration of planning and monitoring software systems, ensuring they are used effectively for data entry, tracking, and reporting
Requirements:
- Understanding of Section 106 within the development sector
- Be able to set up, maintain and monitor information systems
- Ability to effectively manage, analyse and present findings and data
