Independent Living Officer

Venn Group Social Housing Recruitment Team are currently recruiting for a temporary Independent Living Officer for our client based in Somerset to begin employment within their expanding team.
Location: Somerset
Contract Type: 1 month +
Hours: 37.5 hours Monday to Friday 8:00am – 16:00pm

Day to day responsibilities include:
- Provide a housing management service to customers and act as the first point of contact to ensure that customers are happy and safe in their own homes across various schemes
- As the point of contact, respond to any concerns in relation to ASB, tenancy issues/concerns and neighbourhood issues/rent accounts
- Ensure that the independent living schemes are safe and well maintained
- Carry out testing on pull cords, smoke and fire alarm testing and fire alarm drills
- Conduct water flushing and water hygiene procedures
- Ensure person centred risk assessments are offered to customers to identify high-risk customers in terms of safety and implement plans as required
- Report and manage repairs throughout the buildings, liaise and work closely with the maintenance team
- Deal with cases of ASB and work closely with other teams to resolve cases
- Ensure notes and information is up to date on internal IT systems
- Complete property viewings with potential new customers
- Conduct a welcome service to new customers and discuss emergency procedures
- Facilitate and enable social inclusion activities
Essential Skills:
- Experience in supported living services and knowledge of health and safety procedures
- Full UK drivers licence and access to own car
