SEN Lawyer – South East – Competitive hourly rate – Remote Working
Position: SEN Lawyer
Organisation: South East based Local Authority
Duration: 3-month ongoing
Working Pattern: Full time
Working Arrangement: Remote working
Hourly Rate: Competitive hourly rate
Venn Group’s legal team are working with a forward thinking South East Local Authority to recruit an experienced SEN Lawyer.
The ideal candidate for this role will be either a Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Fellow of CILEx who demonstrates a strong knowledge and experience of dealing with a varied SEN caseload including appeals.
Local Government experience is preferable but not essential for this role provided there is significant relevant experience.
Duties shall include:
1- Having ownership of case management and progression of a varied caseload
2- Dealing with all aspects of appeals to the Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) Tribunal, including drafting responses to appeals, instructing expert witnesses, dealing with interim applications, effectively negotiating and resolving appeals
3- Delivering an efficient legal service to the Local authority and partnerships
4- Ensure compliance with time recording policies and departmental procedures whilst demonstrating flexibility by working in all aspects of SEN specialisms, in line with the Local Authorities requirements
