Interim Senior Advisor for Safeguarding Adults
Based in East London, hybrid working
Length: 3 Months (Potential for Extension)
An exciting position has arisen for a Senior Advisor for Safeguarding Adults for an East London local authority. The role will involve leading on the development and implementation of a multi-agency Safeguarding, MCA and DoLS training strategy and programme for managers, staff and partners. To then facilitate safeguarding governance arrangements and associated delivery structures, policy changes and data performance improvements and submissions across adults’ services.
Key Responsibilities of the Interim Senior Advisor for Safeguarding Adults:
- Oversee the Safeguarding Adults Business Manager in setting a clear framework for the development and achievement of the strategic direction, policies and objectives
- Implement the national and local strategies for safeguarding adults and promote senior multi-agency partnership working to protect adults at risk of harm and neglect
- Provide prompt, regular and well informed advice to the Council, partner agencies and senior offices of the Council on all matters pertaining to safeguarding adults
- Analyse data, trends and deliver reports to provide prompt, regular and well informed advice to the Adults’ Services and partner agencies
- Responsible for the commissioning, coordination, implementation and/or oversight of statutory, national and local partnership reviews
- Contribute to the review of the London multi-agency procedures, taking into consideration central guidance and changes in legislation and practice and then applying these changes
- Lead regular service audits and reviews of cases to ensure continual improvements in practice
- Feed into the development of high quality services which are customer focussed, modern, integrated and accessible to the whole community within the resources available
Skills, experience and knowledge required of the Interim Senior Advisor for Safeguarding Adults:
- Significant knowledge and experience in safeguarding adults
- Qualified Social worker and a qualified Best Interests Assessor
- Previous in managing a strategic portfolio
