Interim Senior Children’s Commissioning Manager
Based in London (hybrid)
Length: 5 months
Inside IR35
This exciting London based interim Commissioning role will oversee and lead the improvement of the commissioning of children’s services including educational and residential placements, independent living and respite services for vulnerable children and children with SEND, those in care, leaving care or homeless.
Key Responsibilities of the Interim Senior Children’s Commissioning Manager:
- Supporting the Head of Integrated Children’s Commissioning in developing and delivering a joint strategic commissioning function and strategy on behalf of the Council, working with partners within the Council, the CCG and the Children and Families Partnership Board
- Taking the lead in the development and drafting of commissioning strategies, frameworks and other documents relating to children and families and making recommendations for changes to policy to reflect local and/or national initiatives and statutory regulations
- Initiating, designing, and leading special projects to support the continued improvement and integration of services
- Attending the various partnership boards and stakeholder groups, acting as the liaison and link within Children’s Commissioning for external stakeholders
- Leading on appropriate and effective consultation and engagement with service users and families ensuring that users have access to timely, high quality services that reflect needs as set out in care plans, SEN statements or as identified by parents/carers
- Acting as the liaison and link within Children’s Commissioning for external stakeholders
Skills, experience and knowledge required of the Senior Children’s Commissioning Manager:
- Expert knowledge in relation to Children’s Services
- Knowledge and understanding of the commissioning processes in health
- Experience of project and programme management
- Experience of managing staff and/or a team
- Significant experience of commissioning services within Children’s
