Interim Senior Commissioning Manager - SEND
Based: London (hybrid working)
Length: up to 6 months

We are currently supporting a London Local Authority to recruit an interim Senior Commissioning Manager for SEND within the Children and Young People’s division.
Key Responsibilities of the Senior Commissioning Manager - SEND:
- Lead the commissioning/de-commissioning of services and resource allocation to meet the needs of children with special educational needs and/or disabilities
- Use an evidenced-based approach to identify the outcomes they wish to achieve for residents and develop and support strong partnerships with stakeholders including parent carers and health partners
- Lead on the ongoing development of the Joint SEND Commissioning Strategy for services to support SEND pupils in out of borough and in independent provision
- Lead on the ongoing development of the joint strategy for emotional wellbeing and mental health, and collaborate with health partners on the future model of CAMHS and other joint priorities identified with the CCG
- Lead on securing best value from all SEND provision in independent and out of borough provision and with other areas of children’s commissioning
Skills and experience required of the Senior Commissioning Manager - SEND:
- Demonstrable senior commissioning experience across a Health and Social care portfolio
- In-depth understanding of Joint Commissioning, SEND and CAHMS across Local Authorities and CCGs at a senior level
- Strong levels of political awareness, and knowledge and experience of integrated commissioning activity in children’s health and care and disability environments
