Interim Senior Commissioning Officer (SEND)
Based in London, hybrid working
Length: 3 months
Inside IR35, £400pd umbrella
Key Responsibilities, skills and experience required of the Interim Senior Commissioning Officer (SEND):
- To support the Alternative Provision and SEND Commissioner on the development of the SEND Education Sufficiency Strategy and the SEND Joint Commissioning Strategy
- Support and administer the commissioning of a wide-ranging portfolio of SEND services, including early years, children and family support and respite services and education placements
- Build on an analysis of the current provision landscape, the place pressures across the Borough and the relative priorities for the placement of SEND pupils in and out of borough
- Work across council departments, external partners and local authorities, residents, children and young people, and parents and carers to support on identifying needs, commissioning priorities and resource allocation
- Proven experience of commissioning, market management and contract management; including specifying, monitoring, and evaluating service outcomes and targets
- Sound understanding of the needs of children, young people, and adults with SEND and meeting the needs of vulnerable children and young people
