Senior Contracts and Procurement Officer
We are currently working with a Midlands based Council who are looking for a Senior Contracts and Procurement Officer to support procurement and contract activity for Adult Social Care and Public Health directorates.
The ideal candidate will be an expert in leading and managing complex and strategic local procurement projects to ensure effective delivery in line with legislation and timescales.
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing and managing tendering and performance management processes for their portfolio of services
- Managing a portfolio of contracts across the range of Public Health including specialist areas
- Managing joint commissioning arrangements with NHS Bodies including acute trusts
- Managing and undertaking more complex high value/risk procurement projects including liaising with service departments
- Leading in the resolution of all contract-related queries relating their portfolio
- Leading and managing complex and strategic local procurement projects to ensure effective delivery in line with legislation and timescales
- Establishing and developing relationships with the services’ clients delivering a professional service and expert advice at all times
The ideal candidate will have/be:
- Experience working within a Local Government organisation
- Significant experience and knowledge of procurement, tendering and contract management processes, including complex, high risk and value projects
- Experience of commissioning activities
- Experience of using standing orders and financial regulations within a statutory organisation
Start: ASAP
Duration: 3-6 months contract initially with likely extensions
Rate: Daily rate negotiable depending on experience (Inside IR35)
