Interim Senior Management Accountant
Our client, a well-respected public sector body in Dorset, is looking for a Senior Management Accountant to come on board on a temporary basis for a 6 month contract. Responsible for providing finance support for specific projects, namely One Dorset Pathology and South 6 Pathology projects, alongside providing finance support for other specific tasks.
Location: Dorset (Fully Remote)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Monday-Friday)
Length of Contract: 6 Months
Hourly Rate: £25.65 - £27.12 via Umbrella

Day to Day Duties:
- Involved in all finance related aspects of the projects that they will be supporting, from providing finance representation at project meetings to providing finance data and costings to stakeholders
- Be the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, liaising with and assisting them across a range of finance related issues
- Support General managers and project stakeholders on the financial impact of projects and developments related to these projects, ensuring that the financial records are effectively maintained in sufficient detail to enable strong financial control and monitoring
- Communicate complex financial information to non-financial managers in a manner that is clear and effective, to facilitate effective decision making
- Ensure that the financial records within the general ledger accurately reflect the activities of the project where required
- Support decision making and financial planning of projects, through joint working and liaison with managers, clinical leaders and other internal and external stakeholders
- Respond to complex financial issues and queries from GDO’s, directorate staff, Senior Clinical staff and finance colleagues
- Maintain budgets to reflect authorised funding changes during the year, and monitor financial performance to identify deviations from plan, making recommendations to address any adverse position and agree appropriate corrective action to ensure that financial performance targets are achieved
- Assist internal and external auditors and the local counter fraud service in the performance of their duties
- Comply with budgetary control best practice and Trust Standing Orders and Standing Financial Instructions
- Deputise for the Finance Business Partner, as required
Essential Skills:
- ACA, ACCA, CIMA Part Qualified
- Accountancy experience within the public sector
- Advanced MS Office skills (Excel)
- NHS Experience
