An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Strategic Finance Business Partner to lead a team supporting the current and future needs of the organisation. We’re seeking a driven finance professional to support the organisation through a focus on financial strategy, planning, and delivery. You will play a pivotal role in providing strategic financial insight and advice to senior leadership, enabling effective decision-making and ensuring robust financial management across the organisation.

- Working hours: 37.5 per week
- Location: East Sussex (Hybrid working pattern)
Job responsibilities:
- Lead a team of Finance Business Partners, providing expert financial support to Faculties, Schools, and senior leadership teams, contributing to both strategic and operational financial planning.
- Develop, implement, and oversee capital investment strategies and programmes, ensuring alignment with University objectives.
- Collaborate with treasury and finance teams to ensure capital strategies are integrated with broader financial and funding objectives.
- Conduct detailed financial modelling, project appraisals, and evaluations of financing options to support strategic investment decisions.
- Provide robust financial guidance, challenge assumptions where appropriate, and support senior managers in making informed decisions.
- Build financial capability and literacy across stakeholders, fostering a culture of informed decision-making and financial accountability.
Ideal Candidate:
- Proven experience in leading a high-performing finance team.
- Holds a relevant professional qualification (e.g. CIMA, ACCA, ICAEW, CIPFA)
- Strong experience in Finance Business Partnering, ideally within a Higher Education or large complex organisation setting.
- Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in financial systems.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence senior managers and present complex financial information clearly.
