Interim Strategic Finance Manager – Environments, Housing & Communities 

Based in London, hybrid working

Length: 6 months initially

IR35 status: Inside

Rate: £500 per day via an umbrella company

Venn Group is currently recruiting for an Interim Strategic Finance Manager, to combine analytical and commercial skills with the ability to influence change, ensuring services deliver value for money and comply with financial regulations.

Key Responsibilities of the Interim Strategic Finance Manager:

• Offer expert financial guidance on key contracts, procurement exercises and commercial decisions, including the new agency leisure contract
• Develop and maintain robust procedures for recording Private Rented Property Licences (PRPL) in the financial ledger
• Lead on monthly income forecasting and quarterly reviews of recharge costs to the Housing Revenue Account (HRA)
• Line-manage and mentor a service accountant and an apprentice
• Provide in-depth financial analysis and modelling to inform restructures, savings initiatives and project evaluations
• Manage year-end closure processes and address audit queries promptly and effectively
• Design and deliver training on financial planning, controls and regulations
• Oversee budget setting, financial planning and capital programme management, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of all financial data

Skills, experience and knowledge required of the Interim Strategic Finance Manager:

• Proven experience in a Local Authority or Housing Provider setting
• Strong knowledge of Housing, Environment, Communities, Inclusive Growth service areas
• Demonstratable background in financial analysis and modelling
