Housing Support Worker - Urgently Required
Our client, a highly regarded housing charity, is urgently looking for an experienced Housing Support Worker to join their team. The role will require a hardworking, enthusiastic candidate who has had previous experience working with people with complex needs within a housing services environment.
Position: Housing Support Worker
Period: 3 months (Possibility of Extension)
Shifts: Monday to Friday (Weekend work may be required)
Hours: 35 hours a week
Location: Aylesford, Kent
Rate: £12- £16 per hour
Duties of the role will include:
- Supporting a caseload of young high complex needs clients such as homelessness, mental health and substance misuse
- Carrying out a support assessment to identify individual needs and goals, for health and wellbeing, financial independence and readiness for work
- Carrying out regular tenant reviews to support beneficiaries and track progress against their individual plans
- Ensuring individuals with more complex needs are referred for further specialist support and medical care as required for their physical and mental health
- Signposting and supporting beneficiaries to engage in positive community, educational and social activities on a regular basis, including RBLI’s on site wellbeing activity programme and Lifeworks employability service
- Ensuring clients have access to relevant external support services
Essential requirements:
- Experience in working with complex need clients with homelessness, mental health or substance misuse backgrounds
- Ability to adapt communication style to meet diverse individual needs
- Experience working with vulnerable people providing support, in the field of supported housing and homelessness
