Supported Housing Officer (Young People)

An established charitable organisation is currently looking to recruit a full-time Supported Housing Officer based in the Hatfield area on a temporary to permanent basis to support young homeless clients.
Hours: 37.5 per week
Shifts: Mix of 8-4, occasional 10-6 and 2-10 with 1 in 4 weekends working
Rate: £16 per hour umbrella inclusive of your holiday pay
Location: Hatfield (with requirement to travel occasionally to different sites)
Length of contract: Temporary with a potential for permanent work
Supported Housing Officer – The role involves:
· Manage a case load of young people within the supported living environment
· Deliver emotional and life skills based support, assisting service users with day to day tasks
· Complete support plans and risk assessments with the service users
· Enforce tenancy conditions in line with procedures including low level anti-social behaviour and rent arrears
· Offer specialist knowledge and insight into rent arrears helping tenants with budgeting
· Carry out regular estate inspections
· Offer advice and assistance to tenants regarding their benefit entitlements
· Provide support and advice to tenants in relation to issues concerning their tenancies
· Manage void properties to ensure the quickest re-let times including carrying out viewings and sign-ups
Essential requirements:
• Must have experience in tenancy sustainment or working with vulnerable people
• An enhanced DBS check from within the last 3 years or willingness to obtain a new one
• Excellent communication skills and basic IT skills are essential
