Waste Contracts and Haulage Team Manager
We are currently working with a company in the Leicestershire who require the interim assistance of a Team Manager for their Waste Contracts and Haulage team.
The current role has two distinct areas to it:-
• Management of the waste treatment recycling and composting contracts for the 300,000 tonnes of waste they receive each year from the 7 Districts in the County area and their 14 HWRCs
• Direct Operation of the a waste transfer station, maintenance of their mobile plant (loading shovels etc.) across four sites and their small fleet of 32 tonne Ro-Ro Haulage vehicles

Rate: £45.71 per hour via umbrella (Inside IR35)
Duration: 3 months initially
Hybrid working in Leicestershire, at least one day a week on site
This role is for a service that operates 7 days a week, 6am to 6pm
Role Requirements
• A good understanding of the need for compliance (vehicle checks/servicing/ no overloading/driver hours etc.)
• HGV haulage operational experience, as that is the main operational aspect
• Experience of managing contracts relevant to recycling, haulage and treatment contracts
• Budget management experience as the contracts are high value worth £20million+
Role Responsibilities
• Deal with the increasing volume of work/service changes/efficiencies on the horizon (Waste has its own specific regulatory framework so knowledge of waste would be a distinct advantage).
• Responsible for the effective strategic and operational performance management of services and teams through the departmental business planning process
• Responsible for tendering processes in the appointment of approved providers
• Management of routine, day to day decisions and demand as an operational commissioner and service provide
• Responsible for the efficient specification, tendering, contract management, operation and compliance (Duty of Care, planning etc.) for waste management services
