Test Subject Matter Expert

We are working with a local authority who are looking for Test Subject Matter Expert to capitalise on the council’s new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. The role holder will act as the Test Subject Matter Expert as part of the technical workstream delivering an SAP S/4 HANA and SuccessFactors implementation.

The Test SME will work with stakeholders to facilitate, monitor and communicate the testing of the end-2-end SAP solutions and using their testing expertise will work closely with existing data owners and all workstreams creating test scripts and scenarios to ensure successful deliver of the test approach.

Location: Southwest based Authority 

Set-up: Hybrid role, with 1-day on-site attendance weekly

Rate: £500-£525 per day via umbrella, inside IR35

Duration: 12-month initial contract, likely extension

Hours: Full-time position

The work will include:

Create a Test Strategy for the ERP implementation which encompasses all elements and includes end-2-end process testing with a particular focus on cross functional elements integrations and legacy system testing

Working with the system implementation partner Test Manager to oversee the creation of system and integration test scripts

Working with functional SMEs, define and document End to End Testing Scenarios and write the Test Plan for all phases of testing

Together with workstream leads and SMEs develop and execute UAT test scripts

Adopt the One Programme defect management process, monitoring and coordinating with SME’s to ensure all defects are logged and are being resolved in line with the project timescales with appropriate escalation as required.

Qualifications and Education:

Strong experience of the full testing cycle during an ERP implementation.

Experience of managing defects and reporting on testing progress.

Local Government experience required for initial shortlisting, then at client’s discretion thereafter
