Job Title: Unit Manager – Adult and Community Services

Job description: A Local Authority in Yorkshire is looking for a Unit Manager to provide professional expertise for the organisation. The role is to start at short ASAP on an ongoing contract
Duties:
- Managing a comprehensive residential and community Care facility
- Ensuring that resources allocated to the unit are efficiently and economically deployed and controlled and that service users and carers are involved and influence the service provided
- Being responsible for the effective management of the unit including budgets and staff, monitoring service delivery and the quality of service provided, for users and their families
- Continually reviewing the role and operational effectiveness of the unit in order to improve
- Responsible for the recruitment, selection and discipline of staff in accordance with the Directorate’s delegation scheme, and ensuring good quality formal supervision and appraisals for all staff
- Monitoring staff attendance this will include maintaining accurate records of sickness absences of team members, undertaking return to work interviews of staff on their return to work and completing the paperwork required to monitor attendance
- Developing comprehensive Rehabilitation/ Care plans for each service user in consultation with other professionals and staff
The successful candidate should have:
- Level 5 Leadership and Management in Health and Social Care (or be working towards) or equivalent e.g. Level 4 NVQ Management/ Registered Manager Award
- Health & Social Care Level 4 or equivalent CQSW, CSS, Dip SW, and A1, A2, or D32/33 – Assessor award
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience 3 years of which must be within a senior capacity and an additional 2 years of supervising staff
Hourly Rate: £25.10 per hour umbrella
