VAT Specialist
A position has arisen for a VAT Specialist within a University. This is a key role to ensure the University and subsidiary companies are compliant with all relevant tax legislation.
Job responsibilities include:
- VAT preparation for the University
- Supporting Estates & Research with VAT calculations
- Identifying VAT treatment for Universities research income
- Dealing with issues regarding importing VAT
- Completing Corporate tax returns for subsidiaries
- Dealing with VAT returns for the Property Division
- Advising and ensuring tax reliefs are claimed where applicable
The successful candidate ideally will have:
- A recognised accountancy qualification (ICAEW, ACA, ACCA, or equivalent)
- Extensive VAT experience and knowledge
- Experience working in a Higher Education Institution or a partially exempt organisation
- Experience using a large Finance System
