Position: Support Worker
Period: 3 months with the potential to join the organisation on a permanent basis
Hours: 37.5 hours per week across varying shifts
Location: Central London
Rate: £11 - £14 per hour
DBS: Enhanced
Our client, a specialist supported housing organisation, is seeking an experienced Support Worker to join their busy team. The main purpose of the role is to provide support to people experiencing mental distress and provide a welcoming, safe, and compassionate environment. Workers will support people to devise safety plans, work on coping techniques, identify personal goals and connect people to resources in the local area.
Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain relationships of trust with service users
- Support people experiencing mental distress in an empathetic, professional manner
- Work alongside individuals to develop and review robust assessments
- Create personalised support plans
- Work with professionals from external agencies and make onward referrals
- Contribute to the protection of individuals from the risk of abuse or self-harm
Essential requirements:
- Experience creating support plans, referrals and risk assessments
- Previously worked alongside individuals experiencing mental distress
- Worked in partnership with service users, been empathetic and created a trusting environment
- Demonstrated skills relating to housing, welfare benefits, education, and relationships
- Always safeguarded the wellbeing of clients and colleagues
