Support Worker
A well-established Support Provider based in Dorset is looking for a Support Worker to provide support to young people aged 16-25 with complex Substance Misuse and Mental Health issues
Location: Dorset
Contract duration: 3 Months +
Hours: Full time
Hourly rate: £13 via Umbrella

Day to day responsibilities include:
- Support a caseload of young people and their families who are experiencing difficulties with substance misuse or their mental health
- Carry out needs and risk assessments enabling service users to reflect on their needs, and identify barriers to their eventual recovery
- Work with young people to formulate support plans based on their strengths, needs and aspirations and oversee the brokerage of effective packages of support for clients
- Proactively engage with young people to provide them with the support, training, education and guidance they need to better understand the implications of the situations they may face
- Work in close collaboration with partners internally and externally to support, motivate and maintain the engagement of service users through all stages of their recovery journey
- Promote and support the delivery of a range of flexible activities within the service that will effectively engage/re-engage and retain service users, prevent dropout and maximise successful treatment completions
Essential criteria include:
- Current enhanced DBS (ideally on the update service)
- Experience of working with service users with Substance Misuse issues
- Access to a vehicle with a full driving licence
