Youth Support Workers
A charitable Housing Association are currently recruiting for Youth Support Workers to join their team on a temporary to permanent basis in Hertfordshire. If you are only interested in the opportunity on a permanent basis, then please still apply.
Length: Temporary to Permanent
Pay Rate: £12 per hour including holiday pay/£22,758 per annum
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Shifts: Working on a combination of shifts on a 4-week rolling rota consisting of 7am-3pm, 9am-5pm and 2-10pm and every other weekend
Location: You can choose to be based in Hemel Hempstead or Radlett
Role responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one support to service users within the scheme and manage a caseload of 8 young people who present with multiple and complex needs
- Produce and update individual’s support plan that will support people to meet their agreed outcomes
- Follow agreed risk assessment and contribute to risk management planning, highlighting any changes in risk to more senior staff and other professionals
- Assist the young people to live independently and maintain valued friendships and family networks
- Sign posting the young people to receive appropriate advice when necessary (e.g. health care, benefits, housing etc)
- Create opportunities and enable the young people to develop and widen their social, educational work experience and leisure networks
- Complete admin tasks demonstrating that outcomes described in individual plans are being achieved
Essential requirements:
- Knowledge of working with vulnerable adults and completing support plans and risk assessments
- You’re able to take ownership for resolving problems and you can demonstrate courage and resilience in dealing with difficult situations
- Valid Driving License and access to a car for work purposes
- An Enhanced DBS with the Adults and Children’s lists checked from within the last 3 years or willingness to apply for a new one
