Delivering multiple specialist roles with ease

Leicestershire County Council is committed to delivering its SEND accelerated progress plan, aiming to create a service that accurately reflects the needs of children and young people. As part of this comprehensive review, attention was given to the transport provision. We were approached to deliver the talent to achieve their outcomes.

Priorities supported:

• Retain a consultancy with the ability to deliver multiple roles at pace

• Partner with local government recruitment experts who could provide all nine specialist SEND candidates across the project to include:

• 1 SEND Transport Project Manager

• 5 SEND Transport Officers

• 3 SEND Transport Customer Service Advisors

• A local candidate pool to support this regional service

Experience applied:

• Understanding the importance of this campaign, we met with our client to interrogate the job specifications and determine the main criteria for success

• The immediate start required for the initial five transport officer roles led us to devise a robust four-day end-to-end recruitment process

• Our local government division based in Birmingham capitalised on their local knowledge to attract the regional talent required

Outcomes delivered:

• Approaching known talent who had worked with us before, we were able to either brief them on the positions or ask for their recommendations; in total 76 candidates were approached across the 9 roles, with 13 applicants shortlisted for client review

• Ensuring all candidate compliance was complete, we were able to fufill all roles within 96 hours of engagement

• Our team structure enabled the local government division to mobilise as one to deliver all roles successfully and rapidly, with no compromise on service or talent
