UCL is one of the world’s best universities and were recently recognised as The Times University of the Year 2024. This led directly to an increased workload across the contracts department as organisations sought to partner with this leading establishment. In order to support this demand the university required three Contracts Managers to assist on an interim basis.

Priorities supported:

  • Recruiting candidates who could swiftly integrate into their team and add value quickly

  • Sourcing candidates with prior experience gained in the higher education sector in a similar institution

Experience applied:

  • Leveraged our knowledge from previous successful placements with the university to understand their specific needs and the culture of the department

  • Our consultant frequently engaged with sought-after professionals with previous higher education experience enabling us to swiftly identify and contact potential candidates

  • We understood and supported the internal recruitment process which allowed us to successfully brief the shortlisted candidates

Outcomes achieved:

  • Presented the university with nine suitable candidates within two days, ensuring each met the line managers specified criteria

  • Successfully filled all three vacancies surpassing the performance of other agencies and solidified our reputation as a trusted recruitment partner to both UCL and Guidant Global

“UCL has a long-standing relationship with Venn Group in order to source and appoint research contracts staff. They recommend candidates of a high calibre and their agents are efficient and friendly, and balance the interests of both their clients and contractors.”
