Vacancy – Accommodation Advisor
Location: Birmingham, Stoke-On-Trent or Nottingham
Length: Permanent
Hours: 40 hours per week
Pay: £23,526 per annual
Venn Group are currently recruiting for experienced Accommodation Advisors to support clients in the community to overcome complex housing issues and to identify appropriate accommodation. Said candidate will be knowledgeable on securing safe and appropriate accommodation, providing advice on homelessness. The desirable candidate would also be available at short notice to start the permanent post.
Responsibilities of the role:
- Assisting clients in obtaining specialist information, advice and guidance in housing, acting on and coordinating all complex housing issues
- Advising and signposting individuals on benefit entitlement and transition issues, tenancy agreements, setting up a home, managing anti-social behaviour, and tenant rights and responsibilities
- Developing relationships and liaising with a number of organisations including housing associations, local authority housing departments, approved Private Rented Sector landlords, National Probation Service, Social services departments, welfare rights organisations, and Citizens Advice Bureau. Attending any relevant forums, events and meetings to ensure knowledge, understanding and relationships are maintained
- Supporting multi-agencies to identify housing issues as early as possible and resolve standard queries
- Keeping records efficiently and in line with HMPPS, prime contractor and Group policies and procedures
- Maintaining records and report outcomes using computer systems as required and reporting and updating documents required by the Trust in line with job and contractual responsibilities
- Creating and maintaining a Housing Toolkit containing details of referral mechanisms, eligibility and booking processes
- Managing a caseload and progressing cases to completion
- Overseeing the operations of the hubs and appointments and contributing to the positive, safe environment and overall success of the hubs
- Organising own diary and manage time effectively on a day to day basis
- Working in partnership with the Contracts manager to ensure compliance with the Group’s Lone Working Procedures
- Ensuring that the client receives a quality service at all times
Essential experience/requirements:
- Previous experience in a related role
- A full UK drivers’ license and access to a vehicle
