Interim Adaptations Officer required immediately
Venn Group Social Housing Recruitment Team are currently recruiting for an Interim Adaptations Officer for a highly reputable Local Authority based in Dorset to begin temporary employment.
Location: Dorset
Vacancy: 7026100
Hours: 37 hours per week (Monday-Friday)
Length of Contract: 7 Months +
Rate: £12.95 - £14.38 PAYE
Day to Day Duties:
- Process and record all Disabled Facilities Grant applications
- Carry out visits and support vulnerable clients with the application process
- Process Approvals and Payments of Disabled Facility Grants
- Carry out means tests for grant applications to establish the eligibility of applications, including accurately recording sensitive financial information from grant applicants
- Conduct a thorough vetting of grant and loan applications with regard to fraudulent practices and to report any such cases to the Senior Adaptations Officer
- Work in conjunction with the technical team to ensure an efficient delivery of the DFG programme from point of referral to completion of works
- Co-ordinate with Building Control and Land Charges ensuring the necessary building notices have been approved and the correct grant conditions have been logged
- Carry out the administration of the Service Unit’s Web Pages and internal information systems, including access to the unit’s services via the web
- Work jointly with Adult & Children’s Social Care Teams in the delivery of the Disabled Facilities Grant work
Essential Skills:
- Enhanced DBS check within the last 3 years
- Experience of working with vulnerable customers
- Experience of providing administrative support services
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Must hold a valid UK driving licence with access to own vehicle
