Venn Group is currently recruiting for an Assistant Director of Pay and Systems for a large NHS Trust based in the East Midlands. This is a temporary role for initially 3 months with possibility of extension offering an hourly rate of £41.24 PAYE inclusive of Holiday Pay OR £47.14 via Umbrella.
This is a full-time role with onsite presence required 3 days per week.
The purpose of this role is to lead and develop a bespoke improvement strategy, developing and implementing plans to streamline payroll and pensions services.
Previous NHS experience is essential.
Duties:
- Deliver a cost effective, high-quality and robust payroll and pensions service in line with national guidelines, providing assurance to all stakeholders with firm grip and control. Seek and deploy opportunities for streamlining, standardising and automating process
- Interim responsibility for the optimisation of multiple workforce systems. Lead on Workforce Systems issues for any inspections and reviews to achieve compliance with NHS and statutory requirements, such as Internal Audit and NHS Improvement standards
- Driving a culture of continuous improvement across People Services, offering guidance and plans to unlock inefficient process and enhance end-user experience. Adopt a programme management approach to process improvement activity, linking with broader programmes of work across the Trust
- Develop pay and people related analysis to identify trends and opportunities to advise and mitigate costs and people risks, as well enhancing all pay related activities both within and beyond the payroll service
- Lead on projects and programmes that deliver efficiencies, increase quality and assurance, particularly in relation to pay and systems
- Develop and monitor Key Performance Indicators to report and demonstrate effective service
- Persuade and influence key stakeholders to support process modernisation, clarifying benefits and embedding activity
- Active participant in cross integrated care system activity in relation to this portfolio, including ambition to early adopt future HR and Payroll cloud solutions
