Business & Development Manager – Safeguarding Adults Board
Location: England, hybrid
Duration: 3-month contract
Start Date: ASAP
Rate: Day rate negotiable (Inside IR35, via umbrella company)
Venn Group are supporting the recruitment of an interim Business & Development Manager to lead the business functions of a local Safeguarding Adults Board. This role is key to delivering the Board’s statutory responsibilities under the Care Act 2014 and strengthening multi-agency safeguarding arrangements.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead on the delivery of the Board’s business priorities and development plan
• Coordinate and manage multi-agency workstreams, sub-groups, and governance arrangements
• Oversee production of the Board’s Annual Report and Strategic Plan
• Manage Safeguarding Adults Reviews (SARs) and track delivery of related action plans
• Drive communications strategy including campaigns, newsletters, and public information
• Maintain oversight of the Board’s budget and ensure compliance with financial procedures
• Prepare for CQC inspection readiness and ensure continuous improvement
• Supervise staff within the LSAB Business Unit and oversee training coordination
Key Requirements:
• Extensive experience in adult safeguarding and multi-agency partnership working
• Strong understanding of Care Act 2014, safeguarding legislation, and statutory board functions
• Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects and manage strategic plans
• Excellent communication, reporting, and stakeholder engagement skills
• Previous experience managing or supporting a Safeguarding Adults Board is desirable
