Interim Commissioning Project Manager - SEND
Based in London, hybrid working
Length: 3 months initially
IR35 status: Outside
We are currently recruiting for an Interim Commissioning Project Manager, who will play a key role in leading on commissioning transformation work aligned to the Safety Valve Programme.
Key Responsibilities of the Interim Commissioning Project Manager:
- Leading commissioning projects that support the development of sustainable, needs-led services for children and young people pre and post-16 with SEND
- Driving improvements in service delivery through strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and evidence-based decision-making
- Supporting the implementation of frameworks and agreements that enhance quality, consistency, and cost control across commissioned services
Skills, experience and knowledge required of the Interim Commissioning Project Manager:
- Proven experience in a commissioning role within a Local Authority, particularly in Children’s Services or SEND
- Strong understanding of commissioning processes for education placements, therapies, and transition services
- Demonstrable ability to lead complex projects, manage multiple stakeholders, and deliver measurable outcomes
- Experience in developing and managing contractual frameworks, including provider agreements and performance monitoring tools
