Commissioning and Contracts Officer

A position has arisen for an Commissioning Officer within a prestigious local authority in the South West to work alongside and make a difference within their Child Services team.
To act as the named lead for a portfolio of providers contracted to deliver services for people with a learning disability and autism and ensure good dialogue and positive relationships are maintained
Location: South West – Hybrid
Duration: 4 months initially
Rate: Negotiable
IR35 Status: Inside
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Undertake performance reviews and contract management meetings for a portfolio of providers of learning disability and autism services including care homes, supported living services, day care and home care
- To act as the Care Home lead for Specialist Residential Care Homes for people with a learning disability, mental health and Autism and liaison with CQC
- Have oversight of the Infection Prevention and Control work in Specialist Commissioned Services and of the Care Home Capacity Tracker alongside IPC officers and Commissioning Support officers, responding to any escalations
- Strategic Commissioning and development of a 5- year commissioning plan
- Undertake specific elements of needs analysis work to support the development of the five-year commissioning plan for people with learning disabilities and autism.
Essential Experience:
- Experience of implementing policies and strategies within local government
- Track record of market management for placements and supporting commissioning strategy
- Experience with children services legislation and practices
- Enhanced DBS
