Senior Commissioner
Based in London
Length: 3 months initially
A council we are working with is currently recruiting for two children’s commissioning specialists.
A majority of the work will be for Children’s Services but there may also be opportunities to complete work for Adult Social Care.
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Development, commissioning, and implementation of a Framework Agreement for Therapy Services for Children’s Services
- Ensure the effective delivery of all operational children, young people and family services
- Oversee implementation of new Emotional Wellbeing offer and associated contracts
- Provide commissioning support to Mental Health Support Team
- Contract management of Emotional Wellbeing Services, and general contract management
- Ad-hoc commissioning work
- Review of Fostering Model
- Strategy development
Consultant – Children’s Social Care Project
Based in London
Length: 25 – 30 days
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Look at ways in which they can improve and develop services to meet the needs of Children and Young People via their Capital Programme
- Ensure that existing or new assets deliver value for money and meet requirements
- Undertake this short-term piece of work that entails looking at the current Asset and Capital Programme for Children’s Services and involves completing feasibility reports of proposed investment opportunities
- The focus is particularly around assets and how the current portfolio of bids matches current and future assessed need for children and young people
Essential Experience:
- Demonstrable experience of operating at Assistant Director level or above within a local authority
- A proven track record of achieving and managing cultural and organisational change and of leading improvement across children’s services
- Wide experience of managing complex child protection cases
- Degree and a relevant social care qualification –and Registered Social Worker with Social Work England
