Commercial Business Partner
We are recruiting for a Commercial Business Partner to join a Central Government organsisation at a crucial time, working on a high-profile project
Contract length: 6 months
Location: Remote / office when required
Responsibilities include:
- End to end management and leadership of delegated commercial cases across portfolio stakeholder groups up to the value of approx. £10m
- Assist business owner with tenders and approvals and advise on commercial elements such as procurement route etc and managing touch points
- Generating high quality contracts, managing timely signature process, correct filling and reporting of contract status, and managing touch points where appropriate
- Ensuring the PO is raised on time, managing supplier communications and producing accurate weekly updates to workplan
- Assisting business owners in developing and implementing procurement strategies for projects and services
- Helping to devise effective commercial/legal contract specifications and to develop a full procurement life cycle
- Working with business owners to analyse pipeline data over one, three and six-month periods in order to competently manage the delivery of commercial cases
- Key internal and external stakeholder engagement and relationship building
- Establishing a commercial business partnering approach within relevant portfolio, to include identification of requirements, relevant bespoke service levels and KPIs, and ensuring excellent delivery of service against these expectations
- Assist in identifying areas where savings can be made and advising on how cost reductions can be achieved, and the overall numbers of consultants can be reduced
- Implement and maintain systems and management information/ reporting metrics to support the commercial management process
Essential Requirements:
- Experience of success in comparable procurement function
- Experience and understanding of Public Sector/EU procurement and supply chain management processes
- Knowledge of OJEU rules and regulations, evaluation panel structures, criteria and contract award procedures
- A solid appreciation of the workings of Government and a clear understanding of the environment in which an organisation needs to work with its customers and interested parties
- Excellent oral, written and presentation skills, with an ability to develop, communicate and gain ownership of a clear vision and direction
- Excellent influencing and listening skills; an ability to be heard through personal credibility and exercise sound judgement
- Experience of designing and implementing effective procurement strategy for an organisation of similar scale and scope
- Experience engaging and working with a range of internal and external stakeholders
- Experience and understanding of legal and governance requirements
- Experience of e-tendering and Bravo would be an advantage and excellent IT skills and experience using wide range of office applications
- MCIPS or similar qualification
