Communities Project Officer
Rugby Borough Council
Rate: £24.78 per hour (Umbrella, Inside IR35)
Working pattern: Full time hours, 5 days onsite per week
Location: Rugby
Contract Length: 3 months initially with possibility of extension
Play a key role in delivering the next stage of the Navigation Way development. Following the successful completion of Phase 1, this role ensures the smooth coordination, readiness, and rollout of the remaining new homes. Working across teams and partners to support tenants, services, and the continued growth of the Council’s social housing stock.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor programme timelines, identify risks or delay, escalate issues, and help drive solutions across services.
- Attend regular project meetings and multi-team briefings, providing updates on progress and outstanding actions.
- Undertake site visits pre- and post-handover to track readiness, defects, and emerging issues.
- Work with the Allocations Team to analyse applicant data and support continued implementation of the Local Lettings Plan.
- Ensure sign-up documentation and information packs are complete, including guidance on property features such as energy-efficient systems and technology.
- Help ensure tenants receive a positive welcome and smooth transition into their new homes.
- Work with the Communities & Projects Team to help deliver welcome events, community engagement activities, and early tenant-involvement programmes.
- Coordinate with the Communications Team to provide accurate messaging for Councillors, partners and the public about the continued success of the Navigation Way development.
Essential criteria
- Strong project coordination and organisational skills.
- Ability to work confidently across multiple teams and disciplines.
- Experience in housing, income collection, allocations, tenancy management and support or related fields.
- Excellent communication, data handling and problem-solving abilities.
- Commitment to high-quality tenant experience and service improvement.
